Opening a new office in Shangai
Mühlen Sohn, the manufacturer of corrugator belts and fluidising fabrics located in Baden-Württemberg, is opening an office in Shanghai
"Think global and act local" - Mühlen Sohn GmbH & Co KG, Blaustein, has opened an office in the centre of Shanghai in accordance with this philosophy. The extremely high export rate of 90 % means this family company needs a global presence. It is directly represented in over 100 countries with its own offices and subsidiaries and also indirectly with a strong network of sales partners. "With the local presence in Shanghai we are now even better equipped to provide our customers in China with professional service, to offer a comprehensive local after-sales service and to acquire and develop new customers, says Rolf Naegele, Head of Mühlen Sohn´s China office.
The new office in Shanghai is part of a universal expansion strategy at Mühlen Sohn and shows that Mühlen Sohn is strongly committed to this region and wants to be a part of this dynamic market with its big challenges in the future. Analyses of the current market situation by independent institutes and the assessments of industry experts vary widely. For corrugating systems the numbers range, for example, from 3,000 to 4,000 systems. To consolidate our position in the Chinese market, market analyses, i.e. well-founded information on market potential, competitors, their strengths and weaknesses, etc. are amongst the most urgent tasks for the Shanghai office. We will make decisions about further investment and expansion on this basis."
The Mühlen Sohn office in Shanghai currently employs four staff and is supported from Germany by Overall Head of Sales Petra Mühlen (Fluitex). The tasks that the office in Shanghai have to master in the start-up period are extensive; in addition to the strategic analyses and customer-oriented daily work, they also need to initiate national and international partnerships and business alliances and open up new market sectors.
